MOON DANCE CAFE-KASOL

• Place Introduction:
  • Kasol as a place need no introduction. A small city located in Himachal Pradesh which has gained lots of traction in past years. It’s a hub for Israeli tourists and cuisines.
  • Hotel name and location: Moon Dance Cafe and hotel 
• How to reach:
  • Kasol, a small village in Himachal Pradesh, India, is a popular destination for nature lovers and backpackers. You can reach Kasol by all means
  • Air: you can take a flight to Bhuntar and then you can take a cab from there
  • Train: The nearest railway station is Joginder Nagar which is 144 km . From there you can take c ab and you can reach Kasol
  • Bus: From Delhi, you can take a bus. Nowadays there are direct busses from Delhi and Chandigarh and you can reach in approx 12 hours by bus.
  • Road: you can reach by road in your car. The roads are in good condition 
• Why did I  choose a cafe and hotel?
  • These are 2 different properties which lie on 2 different sides of ok Kasol but the owners are the same.

Since my plan was made at the very last moment as usual all so-called good properties were already sold off. After a lot of research, I booked a camp stay there.I reached Kasol in the evening around 6 P.m. but after looking at the property we realised lets go out in the market and ok for something better as I was not happy with that property.

After a lot of internal push and pain I said let’s go …I have been to Kasol so I was familiar with the location and everything. The moment we came on the main road we saw this huge, well-lit property and it was pretty new. Then I released the name and it was MOON  DANCE CAFE.

We enquired about the property saw the rooms and agreed for a price. I never realised I was talking to the owner because that person was so down to earth. Then he told us that he owns a restaurant as well as this newly constructed hotel. And they stay here only and the top floor.

So now Let’s see both properties’ various parameters

• Location:
  • Hotel: 
    • The hotel is located around 2 km from the main Kasol market when you are entering Kasol. Since it is outside the main market you have proper parking. They have a capacity of around 20-25 cars.
  • Restaurant: 
    • Right in the main market where all the action is. So far I have not seen any property whose location so the best
  • For Location, I will give it an 8/10 ( Hotel) and restaurant 10/10

This property has around 10 rooms.

• Price:
  • Hotel:
    • Overall I found it quite reasonable as compared to quality of service. For a double occupancy what I was charged was less than INR3000. For Price, I will give 9/10. The rooms are clean and since it is newly constructed all accessories in the room are of top quality
  • Restaurant:
    • Since it’s one of the best places to have food around it comes with a cost. your average bill for 2 people will be around 2000-2500.
  • For price will give it a 10/10 ( Hotel) and restaurant 9/10 as many would say its expensive
    
• Food:
  • Now comes the food part which is a very important factor when you stay in any place
  • Try anything from Menu. It is very good.
  • We were all non-veg people so yes that’s a super Yes from our side.
  • They have been very smart on this
  • I hotel the menu is very simple but great food and taste
  • In the restaurant, you order anything and it is a great
  • For food, we will give them 10/10. 

    

• Room Comfort:
  • We stayed in their double-occupant room with an extra bed
  • It was a 150 sq feet room with a king-size bed. It was road-facing
  • It had a perfect environment
  • I would give it 9/10 for comfort in the room
  • Decent size washroom which was clean
• Staff behaviour
  • It’s true when we say the staff is just like the management
  • The staff of this property is very polite and always willing to help in night or day.
  • As the owner as the staff id . Jagat ji is very polite and ready to help in any ways
  • When we were there it was raining heavily and the Staff was so polite that they even gave us their umbrella without even thinking
  • For staff behaviours, it has to be 10/10.

• Overall management approach:
  • Their USP is Jagat (The owner of this property)
  • You ask him anything and he will go out of his way to help you.
  • I will give him 10/10 for hospitality 
• Co-operative
  • As far as the overall team was concerned it was fully cooperative
  • Whether it is 5 am or late in the night team was always ready to help.
  • I would give them 10/10 for the cooperation of the team.
  • I would give them 8/10. 
• Room and pool
  • They had 2 room options. Both were equally good and comfortable.
  • wifi connectivity on rooms was decent
  • As such being on such a height there was no pool there.
  • Over all I would give them 8/10. 
• Housekeeping:
  • Since it was kind of full season for them. All rooms were booked but still, the team was there to help at any point in time or even cater to your small requirements
  • .So I will keep them 9/10 for housekeeping
